KAILUA-KONA — Police arrested a man in connection to an attempted homicide investigation that occurred in North Kohala early Thursday morning.
KAILUA-KONA — Police arrested a man in connection to an attempted homicide investigation that occurred in North Kohala early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at about 1 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 250 and Kynnersley Road. The call came in as an active domestic dispute, according to a press release from the Hawaii Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a a heavily damaged brown Toyota pickup truck, which was occupied by a 31-year-old North Kohala woman and 36-year-old Kamuela man.
During the investigation, officers discovered, 32-year-old Dwight Antonio Rivera, of North Kohala, allegedly used a red Dodge pickup truck to ram the victims’ vehicle repeatedly.
According to the press release the woman was taken to North Hawaii Community Hospital for minor injuries and was later released.
Rivera turning himself in in Kohala at 2:10 p.m. Thursday.
